AGILE DRIVING SCHOOL CONTRACT
"AGILE” means the ability to move with quick and easy grace; mentally able to think quickly and clearly. The purpose of Agile Driving School (ADS) is to develop in students the agile ability to drive safely. Agile Driving School is committed to providing excellent service and driving instruction. We welcome you aboard to begin this exciting journey toward obtaining your driver’s license and contributing to a safe driving community.
The course curriculum will be presented by instructors licensed by the Virginia DMV. The Driver Education Program is state-approved and meets or exceeds the standards set by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia DMV.
Our vehicles are equipped with seat belts, rearview mirrors, dash cameras, and display signs for safety.
Completion of classroom and in-car instruction does not guarantee that any student will pass the state license examination or obtain employment in any capacity.
DRIVING SCHOOL RULES
Agile Driving School (ADS) has established rules that all students must follow. Failure to comply may result in suspension or expulsion from the program without a refund. The following are ADS's rules:
-
Classroom Conduct: Students must maintain a learning-conducive environment. Loud talking, noise, and disruptions are not allowed. Cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off during class or will be confiscated until the end of the session.
-
Damage and Cleanliness: Students must not damage ADS property, including equipment, tables, chairs, and desks. Trash must be disposed of properly.
-
Personal Belongings: Students must collect their personal belongings before leaving. ADS is not responsible for lost or misplaced items.
-
Substance Use: Students suspected or found using drugs or alcohol on ADS property will be immediately removed from class and driving instruction. If under 18, their parent/guardian will be notified.
-
Student Conduct: Horseplay, pranks, class disruptions, willful misconduct, or intentional damage to school property are grounds for expulsion without a refund. Students and their guardians will be held financially responsible for damage caused to school property.
-
Attendance: Attendance is mandatory. Missed classes, whether classroom or in-car, must be rescheduled and completed in sequence. A rescheduling fee will apply.
-
Dress Code for Driving Lessons: The following footwear is prohibited: flip-flops, shoes without heel support (e.g., Crocs with holes), and heavy work boots. Acceptable footwear includes closed-toe sneakers, dress shoes, loafers, or boots.
-
Cancellation Policy: If a lesson must be canceled, students must notify ADS at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in an additional fee.
-
Pick-up and Drop-off Policy: Lessons begin and end at the school premises. If a student requests pick-up and drop-off, the instructor's travel time will be deducted from the lesson duration. Only private lessons that are at least two hours long qualify for pick-up and drop-off services.
-
Road Test Retakes: If a student fails the road test, they may retake it on another day. If a retake is requested on the same day, the student must purchase a two-hour driving package.
FEES (NON-REFUNDABLE)
-
Missed Driving Lessons: A $30 fee applies per missed driving hour if 24-hour notice is not given.
-
Administrative Fee for Refunds: A $60 processing fee applies for any refund requests.
-
Card Payments: All credit/debit card payments are final and will only be refunded if authorized by a supervisor.
-
Vehicle Damage: If a student causes damage to an ADS vehicle during a lesson, they are responsible for covering the cost of repairs up to a $500 deductible.
-
Road Test Fees: A $60 fee per road test appointment applies after three failed attempts.
STUDENT AGREEMENT
The student agrees that all information provided in this application is true and accurate. Enrollment in the course does not guarantee successful completion if the student fails to adhere to the rules.
The student understands that the minimum instruction required by law for individuals under 18 years of age is:
-
Classroom: 36 periods (50 minutes each).
-
Behind-the-Wheel & Observation: 14 periods (7 periods behind the wheel, 7 periods observing; each 50 minutes, totaling a minimum of 50 miles).
In the event of a medical emergency, ADS instructors or staff may authorize medical assistance if the student is physically unable to do so (if over 18).
The student acknowledges that:
-
No student may be in a driver’s car with the engine running unless accompanied by a certified instructor.
-
Completion of behind-the-wheel training does not mean the student is a fully accomplished driver.
-
Once the student receives their driving certificate and ADS submits their certification to the DMV, the school has no further obligation regarding any issues the DMV needs to resolve with the student. Any problems, such as providing paperwork, must be resolved directly with the DMV. ADS's responsibility is solely to provide the certification of completion.
-
ADS does not guarantee that a student will pass the DMV test. The student may request a specific ADS vehicle for testing, subject to availability

ROAD TEST PACKAGE AGREEMENT:
By booking a Road Test Package with AGILE DRIVING SCHOOL, the student agrees to the following terms: a minimum of eight (8) days’ advance notice is required to fully cancel and receive a 100% refund. An additional administration fee of $ 60 may apply. Cancellations made within eight (8) days of the scheduled road test will result in a forfeiture of 50% of the amount paid, as instructor time slots cannot easily be refilled on short notice. If the student determines they are not ready to take the road test and wishes to reschedule, a rescheduling fee of $120 will be charged to offset costs associated with the lost time. If DMV does not wish or is not able to provide road tests or services for any reason, there will not be a refund. Agile Driving School is only responsible for providing training and a vehicle to perform the road test. Agile Driving School does not guarantee that a student will pass the DMV tests.
PICK UP – DROP OFF POLICY:
By signing this contract, the student acknowledges and agrees to abide by the following guidelines for pick-up and drop-off driving lessons: The lesson will commence and conclude at the school premises, and any duration required for the instructor to travel to the student's residence or designated pick-up and drop off location will be subtracted from the scheduled lesson time. The student will ensure punctuality and readiness at the agreed-upon starting point, and any modifications to the pick-up or drop-off location or time must be communicated to the instructor at least 24 hours in advance. The student shall treat the instructor's vehicle with care and respect, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to all safety regulations. It is understood that the instructor reserves the right to cancel or reschedule lessons due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. Failure to comply with these terms may result in termination of driving lessons without monetary refund of the time already used.
